You may want to try the normal military stores system. Remember that Spey engines are still in use today and therefore the spares should still be available for them

And if the Nimrod gets withdrawn from service in March there could be a lot of them surplus to requirements

Try:
E-Goat the Unofficial Royal Air Force Rumour Network Forums (http://www.e-goat.co.uk) - Techies forum
or
Airmech (http://www.Airmech.com)

A bunch of Speys with burners (ex F-4) were sold to China (believe it or not) for their FB-7 (JH-7) programme. :bored:

Leaving the , ahem, trivial little detail of reading the AP's aside.....might one enquire as to "who / what / where" re said Bucc please and indeed, what progress has been made to-date?.....

I think that the Royal Navy have already baggsied those spare engines.

But the FAA gave it's Bucc's to the RAF decades ago :p

Why would they want them, surely the Marine Spey installed in RN warships is a completely different beast to an aero Spey..?
Lower rated, lower turbine entry temps, etc., etc., and isn't the marine Spey TBO something in the region of 9,000 hrs...???

Its the same engine. Agreed, you couldn't put a Marine Spey into a Bucc But you could use many of the spares from a Marine spey...and many of those spares are available through the normal stores channels.

Ask on the Flypast forums, there are many on there involved in the Running and fast taxying Buccaneers at Bruntingthorpe, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

I would ask in the Historic forum, see

Historic Aviation - Key Publishing Ltd Aviation Forums (http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=4)
