Either the helicopter is too big for the yacht, or the yacht is too small for the helicopter...:hmm:

Just my thoughts...

Those big yellow shock absorbing devices did not seem to help , or would the plane have worse without them?

Peer ditches helicopter
Basingstoke Gazette (http://www.basingstokegazette.co.uk/news/local/4534233.Peer_ditches_helicopter/?ref=rss) Friday 7th August 2009

THE multi-millionaire owner of Moundsmere Manor, near Basingstoke, is recovering after having to ditch the helicopter he was flying.

Lord Laidlaw of Rothiemay was forced to make an emergency landing in the water as he headed for his helipad-equipped yacht near Little Deer Isle in Maine, America.

The Conservative peer and his three passengers all received bumps and bruises but escaped serious injury.

Lord Laidlaw is estimated to have a wealth of around £730million and also owns homes in Monte Carlo, London and South Africa.

Married to his second wife Christine, Lord Laidlaw was on leave from his duties at the House of Lords.

Either the helicopter is too big for the yacht, or the yacht is too small for the helicopter...

I would expect they would crane her onto the deck on the Lady Christine - not try to land on her..........????

I've seen other photo's with a crane...

Call me old fashioned  but did they drain the lake after he had 'ditched'

Yes, in America the rich may have any lake they would like drained as long as they re-fill it after they are finished. Easier to fish that way.

Though the lake appears to have seaweed and a high tide mark in the background .... Now I'm no genius but it could maybe be a salt water inlet of some form?! ... just a thought.

Mind you, the 'Yanks' did create a pen that would work in space when everyone else was using the humble pencil! :D
So maybe draining the lake is a good plan ... Great way to fish ...

Yanks, God love em :) :)
