BA072 from Muscat via Abu Dhabi was held up after a passenger apparently told the captain that a security officer who should have been watching the hand-luggage monitors was instead chatting on his mobile.
Cue plane evacuation and search, and one group of bemused but understanding passengers having to go through security yet again.
It doesn't matter how hi-tech the kit is, you still need someone capable to fly it, whether it's got wings or a screen and a conveyor belt...

I believe something similar happened in LOS with a BA flight a number of weeks ago! Fair play to the captain in my opinion!

If we did that every time we saw a "Security Officer" not doing his job properly we would paralyze the world.

How are the Abu Dhabi lads getting on in LA?
