Nice pics !

I take it that a high level of caution is taken when using a camera at this location ??

Wouldnt mind seeing some based aircraft photos if you are still able ?

Thank you,

Unfortunately, there is hardly any culture of Aviation Photography in Pakistan and thus taking pictures of aircraft is not a familiar sight. No caution is necessary if one is not very close to airport premises. However, for based aircraft prior permission is essential. Please wait till I am authorized to do so.

I am Quite Suprised by that, I've been to India a few ocassions and every time i point a camera at an aircraft the police seem to be there.:ouch:
The only time I have sucessfully photographed aircraft in India was at Aero India 2007.

Does Pakistan hold an Airshows?

I once flew into Karachi, the concentration of huge birds near the airport was incredible. We kept the flap out on departure and the speed way back incase of a bird strike until clear at about 5000'. In the end I took out the autopilot and manually avoided - they didn't seem in any rush to get out of our way.

Some wonderful shots, great detail. What sort of range and camera settings were you using? You were either close and risking it, or far away with an awesome telephoto!!!

Level of caution will always increase as a foreigner, specially these days. It is better not to take photos of aircraft if you are not with a well reputed Pakistani citizen. Their are no classical airshows in Pakistan.

For AP-URJ some photos in photo section but no registration number.

Search this long list for AP-URJ

(that's what I call a rare bird)

Thank you for encouragement. I use Nikon D-40 with 70-300mm lens. Risking!!! of course I am a law abiding citizen who respect rules. I am not sure if there is any law that prohibits taking pictures of an aircraft away from airfield premises or is their one?

Here are my first two photo at airliners.net

Can anyone tell me how to reply to individual posts in this thread ie with little bit of text in quote?
