Renewing JAR SEP Rating and Medical in SA

Ahoy there rich and famous aviators!

Like it says on the tin, need to renew the above two things and wondering if its poss in SA? Currently in the great continent of Africaland and willing to go back to blighty if needed but would be good to hear if other cheaper+quicker options are at my disposal.

Just found an ad in a German pilot's magazine (aerokurier 12/2009):

A guy offers JAR checkrides for SEP, TMG, ME, IR from 8 Feb 2010 until 4 Mar 2010, Cape region.

Btw, is it relevant from which JAR country the checker is or can any JAR checker revalidate my JAR PPL? Dunno...

Not sure about that question, could depend on whether the instructor has a JAR license to go with the instructor rating. Some like me have a UK CPL with a JAR instructor rating!?
Might also depend on whether you need your one hour with an instructor in 24mths,or a CofT? I can do the former, not the latter, but am in Zambia.
