Why so many? My 14.25 on Sunday flight from Southampton to Amsterdam had to turn back, Brussels passengers were also delayed that day, then when I came back at 20.55 on Tues 15, that flight was also delayed by a technical fault [in addition to deicing stuff, ok I get that] - am I just unlucky or is something going on?

lwarren17....
Believe it or not it's probably you unlucky...
What you are blanking out is the (x) additional flights that went
off without a problem.
It's a function of queuing theory that any random event can be
seen over a period of time to bunch up, and, it's human nature
to start to see patterns where none actually exist. It's explained
rather nicely here...

My work tends to focus on this line of math and it's applicable from Phone
exchanges to evacuating Football grounds.
