Hello
Is there anywhere in the UK where you can see fast jets training at high altitude on a good day e.g. 30000ft+ and see contrail formations different to those which I am used to made by airliners? or with formation flying? Also, is such training visable from the North West of England where I am located?

Valley do the occasional high level formation trip over north west wales but its not very often you can see up to 30,000 round there! But if u want to stand on top of a mountain looking for white fluffy contrails - feel free.

No mate! Unlike the RAF of 50 years ago, nowadays we've got hardly any fast (as if) jets which can reach contrail levels, let alone manoeuvre at such exotic levels!

Gone are the days of constructing 'contrail willies' which would then drift overhead some city or other. Allegedly some Jock god-botherer phoned Leuchars to complain about such a creation back in happiness-is-Hunter-shaped days. Whereupon the squdaron boss formed his team up in line abreast and crossed it out with a bit of deft battle formation training. Snag was, anyone who hadn't noticed the willy the first time certainly noticed it by the time the boys had finished!
