Hi all,

I'd like to ask if emotional instability indicated by psychologist should be the reason for suspension of class I medical. Should AMS suspend already valid class I medical for that reason? It was indicated in MMPI-2 aptitude test and interview with psychologist.

I've never heard of "emotional instability" as a diagnosis.

I guess, we all suffer from emotional instability at some time in our life,I suspect the authorities would be concerned about duration, frequency and effect on how you lead your life, and ability to fly.

The intervention of a mental health professional raises some alarm bells, I'm wondering if others could comment if you furnished more details.

"emotional instability" is not a recognised diagnosis in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).

Therefore it is not a diagnosis, just an opinion.

As such, it means nothing.

Such tests may present false positives.
However ICD-10 describesF60.3
Emotionally unstable personality disorder However, there is a massive difference between a tendency to "emotional instability" and this diagnosis.:ok:
