Do air dolomiti pilots take on board any professional pilots (from other companies) for free, like we do in spain as extracrew ?
In spain we show the captain our company id and our crew licence and that's it. how about italy?

Negative,
They can't transport anyone without ticket.

If you would like to know in Alitalia, I personally carry all Pilots/Captain with their licence all the times provided they show up directly on board.
If you try to ask at any counter they will never let you go anywhere so please show up directly and ask the captain.
:ok:

In Alitalia/AirOne they are not premitted to take jump seaters (in fact they cannot even upgrade our own crews to business class!!).
But if the Captain takes you it's at his own risk, and today the risk is high.

thanks for your answer. it s a shame people are not all like gao67. In spain we use it, we take all pilots, all ingeneers, all cabin crew form other airlines. But because of stupid rules in other countries like france, germany, england..and italy we sometimes dont take any extra crew working in a foreign airline (non spanish airline). That's a shame for everybody

In fact, I've been given rides without any ticket from IBERIA and many other major and non major companies especially in Europe and sometimes in north america, that's why I will always do it, I'm a captain and I take my own risks
This is one of the last things we have and I want to keep it alive.
The worst thing is that whenever I travel with British, AirFrance, Virgin etc etc I am (almost every time) upgraded in C class when seats available and when our colleagues come in our Alitalia () they get the bad surprise.
The sad thing is that we cannot upgrade even our ex captains that have been serving this company for 30 years.... This company is finished
:(
