Could anyone please recommend a good alternate for Yekaterinburg (within ca. 200nm, AOE, at least basic facilities, etc) based on recent experience?
Appreciated,

USPP and UWUU are two best alternates . Reliable immigration and controllers, fuel is always available and hotels are nice.

USPP is good, nice hotel there. They have a fairly new Hilton Garden Inn with all the amenities alone with free internet. Airport is a bit run down but most are in the region. The locals are very friendly and easy to work with in Perm. Oh yea and did I mention many beautiful ladies:ok: Not a bad place to be stuck in the summertime.

Don`t be afraid of Chelyabinsk (USCC), just 90NM to the south. We had to divert there for the weather at USSS recently (fog). Handling agent was very helpful, officials rigid and slow as common in Russia (show us the permission for this and the declaration for that and so on). But generally not a big deal :ok:

However be sure you have russian visa, it`s not possible to get them at the airport!
