I looked up the NT News, but no mention of rogue crocodile at Darwin Airport blocking runway 29.

I do believe he was asking the question in good faith.
Note the question mark after the thunderstorm query.It is the most likely reason, which is a reasonable assumption.I'm sure the poster knows quite well it is the likely reason but was JUST ASKING.

Thousands of aircraft around the world divert every single day due to weather, passenger problems, engineering issues etc etc.

If every time an aircraft diverted for whatever reason some idiot put up a post making a big deal of it, these servers would be clogged with all kinds of ridiculous crap and this forum would become very very boring.

Stationair8 - get a life. These kind of ridiculous threads are becoming very mundane and trust me, I'm not the only one who thinks you're a fool.
