The Golden Jubilee of the advent of Meteor FR9/T7 to 208 Sqn at Fayid will be marked by a gathering in The Bathhouse, 96 Dean Street, London W1D 3TD at noon on 14 August.
An upstairs room has been reserved. The aim is to try and recreate the atmosphere of Sqn reunions of the era. Sandwiches, snacks and meals will be available from the house menu. You pay for what you drink and eat. The presence of ladies is not encouraged. Childish, puerile and sexist jokes/songs may be heard.
Since the squadron did a self-conversion from the Spit XIV, there was considerable overlap of pilots between the two types. Spitfire chaps are very welcome. Parking for wheelchairs/zimmer frames could be arranged. Please email me if you plan to attend, and I will pass on to the organiser.

PS This does not affect the (posh) annual dinner for all eras at the Club on 27 Oct.
