A relation of mine would like to fly in a jet (pointy version) for his birthday, and has asked me for any ideas on where he could do such a thing.

Does anyone know of any jets in private ownership (perhaps a Hunter or similar), that are available foe passenger flying?

I've warned him it would be expensive.

I think it's more like £1500 for full internal tanks and then as much time as you can get out of that. 75 mins??

Does it have live bank seats??

JPs are not pointy IMHO! Mind you the price would be right!

If he is loaded, check out www.thundercity.com. (http://www.thundercity.com.) He could choose from a Lightning, Buccaneer or Hunter. You don't get a lot more pointy than that.

Won't be cheap though, and the other snag is I think it's based in South Africa!

Blimey, I didn't realise how much my year flying Hunters cost! Unfortunately even if you pay the money you'll not be able to re-create that first solo in an F6 experience.(bigger engine, different instruments, only 1 seat etc)

....intimate knowledge of the CI's #1 daughter was part of your Hunter package as well, if I recall correctly??

Geez - 1200 notes is rather steep.

Here in the good ole USofA there are a few places that do it (cheaper).

Place down the road from San Francisco has a nice L39 Albatross and includes 1 week of ground school for roughly $1,200.

Quite some b'day prez heh?!

Is it not possible to be a stowaway, get a free flight that way?, I've noticed those fighter aeroplanes have big round holes at the back, one could crawl up there and hide, I'm sure no one would notice. ;)

Thanks for the links so far. Sounds like it's going to be very pricey. Anyone know of any private JPs doing this sort of thing.

Wouldn't mind a jaunt in a Foxbat though - must say.
