In light of high fuel costs and the general need to cut expenditures, what is the opinion of you G550 guys on best speed for economy on 4+ hour trips, taking into consideration fuel cost and maintenance reserves? Is best range (at Mach .80) the way to go?

Well, those that own GV / 550's don't usually worry too much about fuel! Speed is king!
We fly M0.80 on most non-revenue flights, and this is pretty economical. Usually on a revenue we will go faster and M0.84 is the best balance between speed and economy. - We will do M.85 or M.0.84 upto 5000nm. after that we will bring it back to M0.83 or M0.80 depending on the flight...
