well i was checking the website and there is a cadet pilot programme going on and its only for the UAE nationals.

But i guess they had the same thing last year as well and they still introduced the programme to the rest of the world!

Imagine if BA had a sponsorship for British citizens only? The World would be up in arms! I find it incredibly frustrating that I'm ruled out of this incredible opportunity just because I'm British. :ugh:

They don't have one, but he means, if they had one... it would not be restricted to UK citizens. The only thing that could restrict it would be that you need a work permit for the UK/EU, but it doesn't mean you have to be a National. :}

It comes to the same really. program is open to UAE nationals, not necessarily people from Abu Dhabi... :}

Anyway i think thats not true. Its just not advertised on the website yet, just says that the UAE program is still open. Its always been there anyway. The international program's been on and off the website so we never know.

That's what I meant, it simply would be unacceptable in this country for a scheme NOT to be open to anyone who has the right to live and work in the UK, foreign or otherwise!

Any country would always give preference to its own national people and then later to rest.Its the same case with UAE. Dont blame them for starting the UAE national programme first. This was done when first international cadet program was started too.So I guess pretty soon international programme would start too..fingers crossed:sad:

cheers:ok:

The Etihad programme will return. From my understand there are 4 destinations planned, but planned being the word here!
Something like this

North America
Europe
Abu Dhabi
East of Abu Dhabi somewhere.

This is for none nationals, its completly different to the UAE programme.
I think patients is the key!

If it doesn't start in Chicago in the first quater of 2010 I would be amazed!

what leads you to believe it would begin in chicago?

If it doesn't start in Chicago in the first quater of 2010 I would be amazed! Question: Will ORD be the only North American stop or is JFK and/or YYZ still in the mix? Also, will previous applicants who were given an assessment date this year be asked to re-apply or would e-mails be sent out requesting desired test site?

Thanks.

I like the optimism :)

As one of the last group who was accepted into the International Cadet Program, all I can say is that we are currently waiting for our course start date.

We haven't heard a lot, except that it depends mainly on when the financial upturn starts to happen. Personally I wouldn't be expecting the 1st stages of the program to start again until a similar time.

That said, it's just my opinion, and I have no way of knowing what the Cadet Pilot team are thinking of doing :)

Edit - And all that said, after reading a few of your previous posts you seem to be quite well connected indeed :). I think it's safe to ignore the majority of my post above :)

Hello Man and congratulations ( if i haven't said that to you already)... i think that you probably will be given a start date at the same time as the assessments start in 2010. The last moths of the year are generally hard to spend a lot of money ,as companies are closing budgets and open new ones for the next year. So i believe you'll start during the first quarter of the year.
I'll be joining you next year as well as i will take the assessments once again and i will be selected this time.:8

Regards
Take Care man

I think it would start from places from where they had planned to keep interviews but couldn't continue due to economic climate!!!!!!

Well I'm certainly hoping that if the application/try out process is starting again in early 2010 that they'll be starting the training for those of us who made it in this year at around the same time! Can't wait to get started and dying to hear some more news from Etihad!

I guess starting our course and the first round of assessments at the beginning of 2010 makes sense and is a good way to kick off a new year.. Especially now that a lot of airlines are starting to recruit and order more aircraft again!

GFC pretty much over!?
