Hello All,

I'm trying compare benefits I'm currently enjoying with what is offered to pilots in other airlines.

Currently we are offerred one free ticket for each member of our family once a year. To apply for this privilige , we will first have to fill in a form at a designated office , wait for a week or so before we are issued with an approval to print our tickets at the ticketing office. For concessional travel we will have to go to the ticketing office and wait for hours before we are able to finally purchase our tickets.
This method started even before I joined the airline 20years ago. I have heard of some airlines who allow thier staff to purchase tickets online. I am hoping for some improvement. Appreciate if anyone is willing to share how tickets are purchased in their airline. With your input , I might be able to come up with a proposal for my company to consider.

Seems like you already have a good idea. See if your airline would be willing to set up a computerized reservation system for the employees.

Have tried that , but I need a lot more info on what kind of reservation system used . Is it separate form the ones used by the the public. Is it part of your company website. How are the payments made ?Is it by salary deduction or credit card . How are the tickets printed? Is it on an A4 paper ( e-ticket ) .
What other things does ur company do to facilitate use of ur benefits and ensure you stay focussed on ur job. I seem to be running to my office every now and then to renew my pass and doing all the other formalities WRT to work (some are unavoidable ). I guess this is acceptable at a time when our rosters were quite loose. My argument would be times have changed , rosters are getting tight . I do not want us to be bogged down by too much unnecessary work on our off days.
Simply asking them to change the reservation system does not work here. It does not bring any benefit to them .In fact , I believe I have to make up something to show that they benefit as well ( don't know how ).
