Hi. Looking through Rishworth Aviation, you get the impression there are many contract jobs for experienced pilots. Is it the case that once you've got some experience on type there are contract opportunities say for example in Vietnam for people prepared to put the legwork in or are these agencies simply not a good representation? I understand how bad the job market is here and in general at present, just trying to get a feel for whether needing to pay the mortgage, keep kids at school etc and general upheaval is what precludes those made redundant taking these as an option (or if they're simply not an option). Thanks.

Well, Once you have more than 1000hrs on heavy jet, there are doubtless some opportunities if you are willing to relocate to a 3rd world country! Which is actually not as bad as it sounds if you have no family and no obligations in your homecountry...
But for Wannabes with a few hundred hours on piston aircraft it's almost impossible to find a job at the moment, unless you know the right people....
