Australia's Tiger launching Sydney-Gold Coast
By Leithen Francis ([email protected])
Tiger Airways' Australian operation is launching a service from Sydney to the Gold Coast.
The daily Sydney-Gold Coast service starts 15 December using an Airbus A320 (http://www.flightglobal.com/landingpage/airbus%20a320.html), says Tiger.
Gold Coast Tourism CEO, Martin Winter, says Tiger's move comes in time for the peak travel season in summer.
Tiger's competitors on the route are Virgin Blue (http://www.flightglobal.com/landingpage/virgin%20blue.html) and Jetstar which each have at least seven daily services, according to Innovata.

Perhaps Tiger had to 'create' a slot, due to the deferall of 2 additional aircraft which were supposed to arrive by the end of the year. Lack of crew, more specifically Captains.

Lack of Captains? Really? I find that a little hard to believe!

Wow. What a treat for the OOL workers when it comes to picking up overtime with more LCC flights to be added !!

Virgin - Delayed
Jetstar - Delayed
Tiger - Delayed

Not to mention the extra revenue for Bus Operators ferrying all those disrupted pax between OOL and BNE every night !
