With regret I have to announce that Clive passed away after a short illness on Monday this week.

Those that will have met Clive will know how much you could rely on him to tell you how he was thinking. His love for life and the church was only second to his fabulous sense of humour and compassion.

RIP Clive.

So sad to hear the passing of Padre Clive. He was a real gentleman. Great sense of humour turned up whenever there was a horse racing night in the Falklands. Always went on deployment with the SH Force and was there on many occasions when we lost our collegues.

God Speed Padre Clive RIP

This is the worst news but for those of us who knew Clive and his beliefs, for him now he is free from pain; there is rejoicing as he touches the face of our dear Lord and is met by his family and friends who have gone before us.

This time is exceptionally hard for Pauline and family who are in our thoughts and prayers at this time.

Clive, our dear friend, we will miss your wicked sense of humour and that twinkle in your eye.

Sleep peacefully. xxx

What a loss! Here was a man who was most definitely my sort of Padre. We served together in various theatres and Stations, and his Pickwickian image and wry sense of humour never detracted from the excellent work of his ministry.

I particularly remember one day in the Staish's office at Shawbs. Don't recall what we were talking about, but I do recall the distraction that walked past the window. A vision of uniformed lovliness, her nether limbs clad in "sprayed-on" OG trousers ..... conversation stopped and it all went quiet.

When we could speak again, I said:

"Clive, it's bad enough for a poor sinner like me to be so distracted, but you? A man of the cloth??"

"Boss, I was just admiring the perfection of one of God's creations.....!"

Clive, old friend, you WILL RIP, and our thoughts and prayers are with Pauline and all who loved you.
