I am trying to contact the current owner of ZK-PDH (formally VH-UMH), i'm a former owner and was interested to see some current pictures of it and perhaps
email with the current owner. Please pm your name and email address.

go to Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (http://www.caa.govt.nz)
far right column click on 'aircraft' then
click on 'aircraft register'
type in the rego in appropriate box and it will return with the current owners name and address.

yes, but it gives you the name of the owner!!
Go to NZ white pages and type in the last name and the city is Nelson
scroll down until you see his initial (p) and hey presto there is a nz number - you will also see the address matches that on the caa website.

Did you own VH-UMH when it was stolen by Harry? Wonder whatever happened to him?

PDH its in a million bits getting a rebuild its been that way for quite some time:(.It had heaps of corrosion :ugh:that needs attention.The owners in the phone book.

Yes I did own VH - UMH, sold it in 1991, stolen???

Stolen indeed.
On 28 Sept 1979 a troubled eighteen year old named Harry stole Beechcraft Sundowner VH-UMH from Brisbane Airport and circled the airport for three hours. Eventually he managed to land the aircraft and he was taken into custody.

Isn't it a Beech Sundowner? I recall seeing it for some years at Hoxton Park.

You are correct. It is a Sundowner.

I owned it from 1987 until 1990/1, have never heard that story before???

Here are two press cuttings about the incident:

The aircraft is variously described in these and other cuttings as a "Sundowner Beechcraft Musketeer" and a "Piper Muskateer". Helpfully, one of the cuttings above identifies the aeroplane as VH-UMH. The aircraft was eventually talked down by two DCA Examiners of Airmen in a Departmental Beech Bonanza (probably VH-CAB).
