Not sure if these have done the rounds here yet (I'm fairly new to this forum and am still finding my way around)

The following are real maintenance complaints logged by USAF pilots and the replies by the maintenance crews. (If you have read these before, feel free to skip them/log out/moan at incompetant newbies)

P = pilot MC = (surprisingly) maintenance crews

P - Left inside main tyre almost needs replacing . .MC - Almost replaced inside main tyre

P - Test flight OK, except autoland very rough. .MC - Autoland not installed on this aircraft

P - #2 prop seeping prop fluid. .MC - #2 prop seepage normal.#1, #3, and #4 props lack normal seepage

P - Something lose in cockpit. .MC - Something tightened in cockpit

P - Evidence of leak on right main landing gear. .MC - Evidence removed

P - Dead bugs on windshield . .MC - Live bugs on order

P - Autopilot in altitude hold mode produces a 200fpm descent . .MC - Cannot reproduce problem on ground

P - IFF inoperative. .MC - IFF always inoperative in off mode

P - Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick. .MC - That's what they're there for

P - No. 3 enigine missing . .MC - Engine found on right wing after brief search

P - Aircraft handles funny. .MC - Aircraft warned to straighten up, "fly right" and be serious

P - Target radar hums. .MC - Reprogrammed target radar with words

...well, I found them funny anyway.

Incidentally, I'm looking to join the RAF after uni and would like to hear from anyone involved in SAR/SeaKing/Merlin work as this is what I'm aiming for.

Bye for now
