Hey folks

Trying to find out why certain airways are followed by alphabets. CAn anyone guide me to the relevant information?

I think I can - you mean the suffixes to the airway designators, right?

D: Advisory Service Only
F: Flight Information (Whatever that means ;))
L: L/MF airway
R: RNAV route
V: VOR airway

Also, a numerical suffix can be applied in Europe which gives the so called Conditional Route Category.

Had to refer to the preamble to the almighty Jeppesen manual for F and D to be honest :D
I think thats about it ;)

Wasn't it supposed to be colour-coded, and each colour designates a type? Like W for "domestic" airways

R for red
A for amber
G for green
W for white
B for blue

Never seen an airway with a suffix before...(but maybe that's just me) :confused:
