Does anyone know if AHK is getting three 744BCF's from CX in April 2010?
Rumour is the AHK boys will fly it!:ok: What about the CX boys?:=

It's a wet lease.

The wet lease is for the current 747 flying HKG-SIN-HKG. This is regarding an additional 3 more 747's to be dry leased from CX.

CX don't have 747. Only 744

AHK 747(CX BCF) has been on wet lease since March 09, any additional airframes would likely be crewed the same way.(esp with CX getting one more BCF from Xiamen and 5 Parked in Victorville, including the first BCF delivered to CX)

Your very intelligent leader at the time signed away the scope agreement with regard to Air Hong Kong.

These pilots have lower pay/benefits and this is an option we are seeking. Our 744 Check and Training Group will be training the Air Hong Kong Pilots but the final command checks will be completed by Management Pilots only to ensure a satisfactory pass rate.

As long as we have a lower paid group with lower operating costs, we will transfer flying to that group, which will ensure My Bonus.

As long as some contracts have the scope agreement in it still applies:ok:

AHK has been looking to lease 3 MD11 or B744 for about 6 months. This is not new news.

Why would DHL use an expensive European operator to service their routes (in Asia)which are operated by the 'cheapest of the cheapest ' (Transmile/AHK etc..)

Aerologic/DHL are going to fly ahk network...

Probably because Aerologic are not going to fly the AHK routes

With regard to the BCF's possible. AHK is certainly pointing towards expansion over the next 12 months - if you look at all the telltale signs.

BCF's are probably one of the better (Cheaper) OPTIONS for them however - wet lease or dry lease who knows. Current recruitment / pilot numbers at AHK may give a clue as to who crews them.

CX couldn't possibly provide 744 crew as we are desparately short and training Freighter Captains as fast as we can...... err... hang on.... 9 most junior captains drafted back to the Airbus soonest... WTF?

Plus all the KA ex 747 and 744 crew being trained onto the 'bus where they are not needed. Is there a plan? Will we be told?

Was operating AHK 326/7, while chatting to the px'ing AHK F/O who said that AHK/DHL were actually after MD11s but they considered them not suitable due to their safety record? Anyway the next on the list was the BCF if the price was right as it was not the ideal A/C due to it's larger size.

May not be for you but....too bad.

They will fly for free if need be,,,,,made astraunouts from 'bush pilots' :D.

Lets see how many make it with CX training if it does actually happen ;) but again depends on who these pilots are...:)

Happy landings!

The plan is 4 a/c (BCF) continue to be dry leased to AHK (from 2011).

Four aircraft continue to be leased? At there moment there is only one on lease to AHK.

Air Hongkong is over-staffed yet the hiring continues, 6 more to join next year! Another indication that they are going to be flying the BCF's!

Any news on new routes? LAX and somewhere in India have come up.

The janitor told me that he overheard a conversation which seemed to suggest all the hiring was for an entirely different reason and one which made more sense, (hint ,the same reason EK is hiring and recruiting)plenty of unhappy people in the sand and looking to leave as soon as things turn around.
(which btw has happened in the past at ahk(hiring to cover anticipated departures)
