Well, after BEagle brought up the pointlessness of British Petroleum's future home in the South Atlantic, maybe someone could shed some light on why THEY think we're here?????? Especially now as we enter the nice summer-time, senior officer visits kind of time. Doh! Hush my cynical mouth.

Things are always worse than they seem!

Yes - if memory serves you're just about to enter the 'visits' season! Various MPs, senior officers and others keen to 'see the chaps at the front line at Christmas' - and hog all the wokka time for various penguin-spotting adventures. Funny how things never change down at the ar$e end of the South Atlantic!

I'll bet that there has been NO improvement in telephone and Internet links to the UK and that Cable and Witless are still making money hand over fist from the luckless inmates of the wretched place......

I bet we don't see too many VIPs out in Oman - unless they don't mind roughing it in their wool suits ofcourse. Maybe they could bring out some of the kit we need when they come.
