Just heard a snippet that one of the Mk.4X Sea Kings got into difficulty during hovering at Boscombe Down on Friday and decided to land using the side of the fuselage rather than the good 'ole wheels (ie the expensive method).

Anyone know anything else? Trust the guys got out okay.

They crashed whilst involved in a trial investigating why the Mk3 rolled over at St Mawgan. All ok, guess it proves the trial then!

No doubt certain people will asume that this was quite clearly down to Gross Negligence, no matter what facts ultimately emerge.............

Actually chaps, I think that it might be better to stay schtum on this subject whilst the cause is ascertained; speculation won't help anyone. Glad the guys are OK though!
