the IDG disconnectios leads to very serious aftereffect for the aircraft (judge by guarded pushbutton on the overhead panel). What consumers will be off in that case?

None lost as the BUS is still powered, then again it would depend on the a/c! Very vague question.

Guards are there as it prevents inadvertant operation of whatever is under it, i.e. it is a deliberate action.

Are you really sure you want to press this?

It's only guarded because the action cannot be reversed if it is pressed by mistake (in the air at least).

The only effect would be an GEN OFF eicas or light and maybe some load shedding with the need to start the APU to compensate. Hardly dramatic?:ok:

the bus will still be powered. the electrical load will be taken over by idg from other eng or apu.

idg reconnect on ground.

An IDG can only be rest on Ground as the lever needs to be pulled mechanically with engine shutdown.
Hence a guarded switch to make sure its not disconnected by mistake.

There are gaurded switches in the flight deck to keep the first officer (Junior) out of harms way and / or to prevent inadvertant operation off said switch. Most are involving emergency operations or systems not used in routine flight aspects.

Of course there's also the reason concerning the curiousity or engineering safe gaurds needed for the safety of some flight crews. Much like the reason Shorts SD3-60's have rubber blades in the flight crew auxiliary fans. There would be an awful lot of digits missing in flight decks today without the rubber blades

Cosmo - your post smells of urine so I'll guess you are tasking the piss:ok:
There are probably more black hander fingerprints on the wrong switches than flight crew and " junior " is more often than not a very experienced operator. Credit where credit is due ok ?
