I very much enjoyed the last Classic Flight Open day at Baginton and wanted to mention that there's another this coming weekend.
I took a flight in that wonderful old Prentice on my last visit and the HD video (along with another of their Meteor displaying at Kemble) can be viewed here:

Mike Collett's Classic Flight has a pretty unique set of planes that are really worth our support.
Currently the flight has a surely 'something for everyone' with for instance a Meteor NF11, a pair of Venom's, Vampire, Dove, Devon, Anson, Pembroke, Prentice, Proctor, two Canberras, Twin Pioneer, DC6...the list goes on! All are worthy of keeping flying and I don't think we can expect Mike Collett to support them on his own for ever. In fact he's been asking members of the Classic Flight Club for suggestions as to 'the way forward', so why not join the club (Welcome to Classic Flight (http://www.classicflightclub.com)) and help save these 1950's aircraft.
In addition Classic Flight's old Shackleton WR963, now under the ownership of 'The Shackleton Preservation Trust' is still beside the others, currently with 3 engines as they sold one of the Griffons in the Middle East and they are about to re-fit it with one of the 6 or 7 they have as spares! The SPT usually allow tours of enthusiasts into the Shack on Open Day's. I can't wait until they get that 4th engine back on-I want to hear the 'growler' again and get it on film, having missed 'Mr McHenry'.
Alas maintenance issues so easily affect these planes, like the wonderful DC6G-APSA which didn't make it onto the airshow circuit this season.
However there are scores of Air Atlantiques working Dakotas, Electras and Cessna twins parked around. It's a relaxed day for just a few quid entrance (£3 I think it was).
