Can someone give us an idea of a typical f/o a320 months roster with Qatar.

Also with Qatar are days off down route or home base ?

Cheers JB

Usually get 7-8 days off @ home base
up to 4 layover per month
Average Block hours of 60 per month
(Due to increasing number of Second Officer)
Extremey high Duty Hours Ex. 54 Block Hours with 150 hrs Duty

Hi!

Jul I had 66 hrs of block time, with 163 duty hours.

NOT at Qatar, but sounds about the same schedule!

Oh, except the Qatar trips are much shorter!

Sky A320 twent is correct in most of what he says except the layovers its depends on how you bid. I have averaged 6 a month with one month doing 8 layovers, of course i didnt request a block of days offd

thanks folks

Oh, if you are doing a slightly reduced roster because of Second Officers, has your take home dropped significantly ?

Hello,

Please pardon my igonorance but I see talk of second officers on the A320 at Qatar. What's with this? Is this something to do with a cadet program? Just curious if someone has time to answer. Thx.

Yes, It's to do with cadet program. Second Officer are those cadet being sponsor by the airline from initial training. Once they are done with flight school they will be place on QR fleet (A300, A320, and A330)

Still don't understand why they would put a yong pilot with 250 hrs. piston engine airplane on A300 and A330. A320 seems to be more reasonable cuz it's the smallest one that we have on the main line.

Once those S/O start their training, we will not get to fly much. As most F/O on A320 can see, our block hours has been decreasing since JUL.
Hopefully it will get better when we receive more new aircraft.

Less hrs. = chop off on our pay. :bored:
Less block hrs, but more or about the same Duty hrs.

Many thanks for the clarification. Good points you have made. Unfortunately, I have seen this in other parts of the world as well.

Cheers:ok:

Skya320:"....pay less.." indeed:
Lets not forget as well that after a short relief during the "crisis" qatari riyal is crashing down again(following the U$)...make our saving amount thinner and thinner every month for most of us...

Can someone pm me a QR airbus 319/320/321 fleet roster. Are things getting better on the fleet and is the pay around 25k riyal. Are people being transfered to the 777 or 330 at all ?

Thanks

No fleet transfer to the 777/330 since Oct 2008 and none in sight. If you get on the 320, youll stay here unless something changes.

Money wise, maybe 25,000-28,000 sounds about right.

Compared to other places our rosters are not to bad. Key is to get the rest while at home to, not doing all niters on your days off. Otherwise you start your duty off in the hole and soemtimes you cant dig out of it.

Jenson:
-Transfer out of the 320 fleet: keep dreaming.(expecially for CAPT)
-Command upgrade: 5..6+ years easily .
We are losing a lot of guys going to EY...(nothing new).
-A-320 roster:Flight time 60..70 hours/month..Duty time: 120..140hours/month:} (you are paid for the flight time).
-7..9 days off month (some of them might be outside station).
-2..4 STBY/month
-sometime 1..2 dead-heading (unpaid duty)
-Last minute change is not unusual (as they deserve some destinations with both A-330 ,A-320 and sometime B777)(only long night Indian turnaround flight never change as Most of indian destinations are ONLY deserved by the A-320&321:} Except BOM&DEL).
-Bidding system available.
