On R & N there is talk of an Air Marshal threatening an unruly passenger with a gun, then making all the passengers sit with their hands on their heads until after arrival. Typical of the breed I'd say, what?

Why are the US authorities insisting on having an Air Marshal aboard every civil flight and is it wise letting them play with revolvers? How many Air Marshals has our Tony got to spare anyway? Can the MOD function properly without them? Wouldn't a few Lieutenant Generals do just as well?

These are important questions that cannot be allowed to remain unanswered...

Yes,

Air Marshals are a curious bunch. Sometimes they stick together like siamese twins even when the rest of the World can see what arrogant, intrasigent idiots they are and how far out of step they are with reality: Day and Wratten.

Equally, sometimes they can't agree with each other at all, as witnessed by Tony Mason (stop the bombing now) versus Bobby Robson (blast 'em all to smithereens) in the Daily Torygraph letter pages last week.

And now one of them threatens a pax with a gun.

Truly a remarkable breed and I agree with Blacksheep we need to be told what's going on!

Ah, Bobby Robson--excellent in his last post, as Director of Public Relations (RAF.

At a Press gathering once he was asked by some tree-hugging PC hack from the Grauniad about why all the low flying, frightens the bunnies, ozone, blah etc.
His answer, which left the anti-huntin' shootin' shaggin' PC mate gasping and the rest of us laughing?
"What's your score over driven grouse?"
