Latest news reports today say that Woodford aircraft factory, the birthplace of the Avro Vulcan is to close in 2012.
Sadly the writings been on the wall for a number of year:sad: The British Aircraft Industry - death by a thousand cuts:ugh:

Who'd of thunk it? I didn't realize they were still in production - or was the factory just making parts for the one's in the museums? :}

Presumably a reflection on the end of the MRA4 programme?, I imagine that any further work on those aircraft will transfer to Warton?
Then again, the closure is 3 years away - so that's pretty good warning for anybody working there.
