Is it possible for Dash-8 rated Canadian pilot to work in the Caribbean for LIAT or Caribbean Airliners?

Ouch. Are they laying off again?

There seems to be a number of DHC8 operators in Canada who have or are cutting back. Hawkair Aviation laid off several pilots after it lost a major part of its business as a result of the serious incident at Fort MacKay/Firebag early this year. It advertised two of its DHC8s for sale about three months ago. Air Labrador was reported as having several DHC8s parked. North Cariboo Air has apparently lost its Contrails approval, which probably has resulted in less business, and somebody on another forum asked if it had laid off its whole training department.
On the other hand someone else mentioned that Jazz might be hiring again soon and Porter’s expansion continues, so it is not all negative for DHC8 drivers.
