Picked up the local rag and saw an article about a union of unemployed pilots. Isn't having an employer a prerequisite to forming a union?
Who's a member and who is planning to get on the bandwagon?

I guess going on strike at this union is going to be real difficult too

our flying experience, we could be utilized by DGCA, which is facing a severe shortage of manpower. We could be trained as ATC officials, a section that is facing acute manpower crunch,’’ said a pilot.

One wonders do they really want to be a pilot.

No point insisting on being a pilot if there are no jobs to be had. Meanwhile, expenses have to be met and loans repaid so why not? It is a sign of resilience and adaptability, if you ask me.

atleast they'll be working in the same field ... no harm in earning a couple of bucks while you're at it :ok:

Instead of forming unions .. you should be finding out ways to make yourselves more employable.. Being a pilot necessarily does not mean sitting on that RHS of an DUAL FMGS plane.. There are a million jobs out there..
