There are the GAPAN scholarships here: Scholarships - GAPAN (http://www.gapan.org/career-matters/scholarships/) but for the rest of us it's down to hard work and careful planning. And sometimes that means a long wait, as well. :hmm:

Basically, there are no short cuts.

If you're in the 17-25 bracket applying for an Air League Scholarship:
The Air League (http://www.airleague.co.uk/)

Mat - as an aside - your recommending friend should have told you...as you presumably did not read the T's&C's - that ONE subject gets ONE thread in ONE forum.

You have duplicated this question in "Spotters"...*please*, don't do that.

Otherwise...a warm welcome to PPRuNe.

It has been suggested, and as far as im aware, it has yet to be dismissed; you could enroll in some sort of higher education course and get a student loan + grant for same. You could either take term one money and run or attend the minimum classes required to progress to the next term to keep collecting your 'paycheck' and use these funds for flying. There is very limited financing available to pilots these days so something like this would probably be your safest bet.

If you're going to go down that route, you could also enrol with one of the universities that offer a PPL along with your degree. Kill two birds with one stone, as it were.
