Is there anyway someone can get a Validation from the FAA, off the back of their JAA ATPL to fly an aircraft (N reg) on a private op. Type rated on aircraft over 12,500 lbs (G550)

Rather than sit ATP, flight test etc.

Thank you in advance for any help and how to go about it.

nope. You will get a 61.75 certificate restricted to private flight and non commercial activity VFR only. If you take the IFP written you will get an IR. If you want commercial/ATP then you take the writtens and check ride.

just do the ATP written, it is easy using the Gleim CD.
Then do the FAA/ATP checkride on the type rating at the same time as the JAA. Can all be done in one check-ride. This gives you an FAA ATP based on your 'foreign licence'.
