Who can recommend me a flight school near Joburg, e.g. Grand Central, for my SA PPL renewal? Thx!

Go to FTS at Grand-Central very good school with a bunch of great instructors

But you will possibly need to book.
If you are there at end October perhaps I can do it for you there. I need to refresh the renewal though with seminar at CAA but that is not a problem.

That is true and it is and much time is wasted going in and out of FAGC. However, for a PPL renewal, I would prefer to see the applicant negotiate the busy area around Grand Central with perhaps a touch and go at FALA. The demonstration of overall airmanship is, in my view, rather more important than a GF sortie-although it is obvious some of that must be donw. A PPL renewal could easily enough encompass two hours of Hobbs time.
