TWO Royal Navy airmen were hailed heroes after they saved a drowning man's life during a round of golf – by hauling a one-ton grass cutter off him.

LA Joey Poole and WO Alan Mullins were enjoying a relaxing round after returning from Afghanistan when they spotted a greenkeeper crash a mower into a stream.
The pair sprinted 50 yards to find Graham Hake trapped under the machine with his head submerged and surrounded by a "cloud of blood".
Incredibly, they lifted the mower far enough for Graham to raise his head out of the river to stop him losing consciousness and drowning.
The incident happened as the pair, both from 846 Naval Air Squadron Commando Helicopter Force based at Yeovilton, Somerset, teed off at the 15th hole at Oake Manor Golf Club near Taunton.

Of course with a name like Hake, it's no surprise that the groundsman was submerged....:E
