Ive heard a number of rumours from Cabin Crew and CSM about merging Short Haul and Long Haul Crew together.

Has anyone else heard about this?

What would be the pros and cons?

Wouldn't this mean better job security for everyone?

:uhoh:

Show us where online please.

Oh and please put "cabin crew" in the thread title so as not to offend the "sensitive".

If it can be shown that greater efficiencies can be made by merging s/h and l/h then I would agree. The case for this would have to be shown not just a wish list by crew wanting to fly internationally.

If this is the case then you could also merge s/h and mainline or l/h qantas pilots as well.

The main problem as I see it is that the company wants new crew to be employed under the QCCA terms and conditions. There is not enough flying for the crew that are employed at present so they do not need any more.

Especially crew costing more than QCCA and that is only the start of many hurdles that would prevent a merger.

Moderators,

The only problem with having cabin crew threads is from a minority of pilots posting here. For some reason they feel as if they are the only facet of flying that exists.

if it were not for those few pilots and their antagonistic posts there would be fewer fights and problems for you with regards to cabin crew threads.

As I said this morning on another thread the D&G section of this forum is listed as covering ALL ASPECTS of aviation.

The flight deck is not the only aspect of aviation anywhere in the world. If a thread is clearly labelled Cabin Crew then there should not be a problem.

Actually, PPRuNe is and always was a pilots forum. For those of you who have recently joined us, a cabin crew sub-forum was introduced several years ago to cater to that part of the industry and expand PPRuNe's horizons somewhat.

A couple of years ago, following continual ongoing problems with Australian cabin crew stirring up trouble, they were effectively evicted from the cabin crew forum.

The D&G moderators at the time agreed to allow Australian cabin crew to post topics which may be of interest/affect both cabin crew and pilot interests. We have been quite liberal in our attitude towards the nature of CC topics and have allowed virtually open slather to occur. From recent postings it seems the behaviour patterns of some are regressing to that which resulted in the ban from the PPRuNe CC forum.:ugh:

So, in summary - DG&P is not a place for general cabin crew chit chat threads. Unless a thread is specifically relevant to both cabin crew and pilots - please post elsewhere.

Remember you are guests here.
