I am not going to mention the airline or flight number but witnessed this afternoon a non standard B737 departure out of BOH. Rather than powered back and following the normal noise abatement track this departure off 26 was on a tight climbing turn across the residential area to the NW of the airport (Parley/Ferndown) by one of the regular operators. I rather enjoyed it... but I suspect it upset a few others!
The only time I have seen this before is when there are storm cells on the normal departure track, but no such problem today and departures before and after followed the normal track.
Any suggestions why this would be.... just an oversight or perhaps a timetable recovery shortcut?
Cheers
