Just heard from neighbours seeing friends off at La Rochelle yesterday that there was a major emergency involving a French military aircraft, reportedly a "twin engine, medium sized aircraft" (Transall?). All resolved safely, but lots of smoke, and many military personnel rushing about. Nearly delayed the Easyjet departure!! Anyone know anything?

Aha,so the Baron that had a `wheels-up` on the runway there was just a `sharpener` for the fire-crews ! That was last Friday afternoon, and it did delay the Ryanair departure somewhat.Moving further SE to Bordeaux-Bergerac the following day, another Ryanscare was somewhat delayed on it`s evening departure when there was an apparent total airfield power failure, following a big thunderstorm...!!

atleast they were at the right airfield this time - I guess you will always get what you pay for!
