Hi im picking people off a Thomas Cook flight TCX459L from Dalaman-Belfast tomorrow [03-08-2009] and they arrive at 19.30 but was looking up their flight details [they made a copy of flight tickets] and it says depart Dalaman at 16.30 and arrive Belfast at 19.30 , but if you take off -2 before you depart which will be 14.30 [uk time] it makes a flight of 5hrs ?? is this flight stopping off some where as i just returned from Dalaman a week ago on an Onur Air A321 and it was only 4.10 hrs

No, that would be about right.

LTBS-EGAA is about 4:15 with an average headwind component of only -30 kts (around what it should be tommorow at Fl's in the mid 300's,) that is great circle so add on time for the fact it won't be a G/C. That is flight time, so the route times will have around 10 minutes taxi time added on at each end. That brings it up to 4:35. The ticket time will also have an allowance for average statistical headwinds and delays, and 5 hours sounds about right.

I did the route 36 hours ago and it was 3:55 from LTBS to EGKK with a block time of 4 hours and 08 minutes. so the 5 hours quoted to Belfast sounds quite reasonable. The time difference from Western Turkey to the Uk is -2 hours so 16:30 local ETD to 1930 local ETA is 5 hours and spot on.

When the schedule is published, it is for the anticipated off blocks to on blocks time over the course of a season, not for the actual times that might be realised on a given day.
