Was on Easy flight from Alicante to Bristol Thursday night when CC asked for a doctor, shortly after it was announced we were diverting to Nantes for medical emergency, the captain said that we would be on the ground in ten mins and we immidaiatly notes the the rate of desent was greater that usual and on of the crew walked back up the isle and indicated with her hand that we were decending quickly.

My question is that would a mayday or pan been declared?, i have tried to find info on the interent without sucsess.

What would the rate of decent be compared to a "normal" landing?

From my reading of CAP413 - mayday would only be used if the medical situation was considered life threatening otherwise pan pan would be used to indicate a state of urgency.

Either way the commander on the radio would disclose the nature of the emergency and the assistence required at the diverted airport.

Probably a MayDay since 'Panne' appears to be less understood in furrin parts (yes- I know:)). That is what I would do 'over there', anyway
