Can you still fly with an instructor if you've lost your medical? Obviously the instructor is PIC.

Yes!

Do you mean lost as in can't find it, or lost as in withdrawn?

In any event, a medical is only required to enable a student pilot to fly solo, or to validate an existing licence. If you fly with an instructor and that instructor is the Pilot in Command and the only required pilot on board, then yes you can generally fly under their instruction.

Yes, thanks for that. I mean't medically lost due to chronic medical condition.

I guess you're not in any different suituation than a guy going for his birthday pleasure flight, but I guess you've got a moral duty to inform the instructor of anything that could be unpredictable.

(eg are you going to have a seizure on the flare?)

Just one point which I am sure you have not overlooked! make sure the other pilot is qualified in the aircraft your flying. IE its no good getting a single engined instructor to sit with you in a twin.

Apart from that it is legal to fly as PIC in the right so any qualified pilot should do as long as you cannot be proved to be manipulating the controls in the event of a mishap ;)
