Not sure if anybody can help me, trying to tidy up some logs on my computer for visits to Manchester in May (Sat 2nd and Sat 9th)

2nd May - G-FDZS departed Manchester around 0700 to Palma as TOM 2606, but did not appear to return to Manchester.

2nd May - G-OOBL departed Manchester around 1500 to Mahon as TOM 2656, but did not appear to return to Manchester.

9th May - G-BYAK departed Manchester around 0700 to Gerona as TOM 2616, but did not appear to return to Manchester.


As this was the first departure of the season in each instance I assume that the aircraft positioned empty back to an alternative UK airport. Acars does not really provide any clues, was wondering if anybody might be able to access information as to where these aircraft went back to ?

Just interested to know when G-FDZT should be arriving, was due in 2009, but still not arrived, any info? Have Thomson got any plans to replace the B752 with any aircraft?

the next batch of 737-800s due from November 10 with the latest boeing interior, plans to replace remaining 737-300 and airbus when they end lease and eventually to replace 757, although some talk they may extend life of latter due to the markets they serve and late deliveries of 787 meaning one class 767 cant replace them on the denser short haul routes for a few years.

no new a/c deliveries until Nov 10, however talk a couple of 757 being leased in for summer to deal with increase in work and early release of a 737-300.

Does anyone know when the leased aircraft will be coming back for the summer, which includes BG, BH, OX, EU and EV?

Noticed that G-OOBJ flew off to MAAS to get painted today... I didn't realise they were painting the older B752!! any reason for this? and what others are going to be painted before the summer...

Talking of Thomson movements...spotted on BBC2 Teletext arrivals a Thomson flight number (something like, but not sure) "TOM9R". As this was out of the usual TOM flight numbers pattern, does anybody know what this means...or any single letters after flight number?

it may be one of the a/c returning from Greensboro after the fitting of winglets, pax flts have either 3 or 4 digits
