OK all, high airshow season now, for all organisers here is a list of what I do, and don't, want to see in the printed programme.
DO :
Proper timed list of all items in the airshow.
Articles/photographs about what we are going to see.
Photographs of the display aircraft alongside the flying programme.
Programmes sold alongside the tickets.
Proper location map showing all toilets, refreshments, etc.
List of trade stands and location.
Proper contents page at the front.
DON'T :
Everything advertisements apart from the centre four pages.
Articles about aircraft not on display.
"Articles" that are puffs for advertisers on the opposite page.
Programme printed back in the winter long before the flying programme is known.
Articles written by freelances who know nothing about aviation.
Programme that you want to sell back 30 seconds after you bought it.
