Usually about 35kt crosswind component. Not really 'challenging'. Not easy for inexperienced, but easily handleable when practiced. I was recently operating in permanent gales at 45 degrees to the runway for a week. Great fun.

Lulsgate does seem to get more than its fair share of 'exotic' weather, like Leeds. I suppose it is because of the location and local topography.

thankyou for your reply.yes at brs we are "open"too the elements.its enjoyable watching landing jets "kick"the rudder at the point of touchdown for that perfect landing
