Hi all

I have to fly a helicopter into Palma Mallorca and just wanted to know if anyone has any tip or tricks on operating to and from there.

I just got off the phone from ATC at LEPA and they mentioned restrictions from Friday until Sunday each week. The Spain AIP also states these. Basically no VFR traffic allowed and if you file IFR you cannot be guaranteed that you will be allowed in.:ugh:

Unfortunately, this is where the boss is landing so any other airfield is not an option.

Any help is very much appreciated.

or go to Palma Son Bonet just up the road, Sloanes have a setup there, a bit of googling should get you a useful contact ...

I would recommend Son Bonet (LESB) as well. I've been flying there countless times around the weekends and never had a problem getting and landing there. They just have a freecall service and parking is cheap too :ok:
With taxi you will need around 15-30 minutes to get into palma, depending on traffic.
Heli traffic seems to prefer Son Bonet anyway, it is just way easier to get in and out, especially during summer. HEMS (AS355), Firefighter (B212,W3A, AS350) and flight schools (R22,R44) is all there.
If you want to go to LEPA anyway, you'll have an easy and closer (if inbound from the north) alternative.
Since you'll be on ATC all the way enroute to Palma, the radar controller usually tells you quite early about your chances for LEPA.

Good luck,
