For considering 'cedeing' the B787 to mainline to replace the clapped out B767's.

I, for one, am glad that you as the Jetstar CEO are actually running the Qantas group as apposed to Joyce and the board.

Would be a very pragmatic decision by the Jetstar CEO if he were to support a Qantas Management move to have Qantas operate B787’s and Jetstar Airbus 330’s& 320’s.
For a number of quite compelling, operational, commercial and financial reasons – it never did make sense to have Jetstar operating the Dreamliner.
Seems his time as a Boston based Consultant was time well spent.
All he needs to do now is support the introduction of the Group Opportunity Allocation List and he’ll go down in pilot history at the CEO who saved Qantas from breaking up. :D

That's the best news I've heard in a long time.

Mainline keeps the Boeing trash, we get the better/bigger/higher/further/longer (what was it that was pasted down the sides of the A346 when Airbus were testing it?) A350s.

And my tie stays cleaner too, what with the table saving me from eating off my lap like some schlepper.

Best not even talk about the long-term 'Group' plans for the A380...

BB, you BB! (...you bloody beauty, just in case people misinterpreted).:}

Spot on Kremin.

The following is an extract post from a post on the Qantas Pilots Chat Room.
'Interesting that they have deferred the -8's and cancelled the first 15 -9s. Considering the original plan was for JQ to get the first -8's which would then be passed on to mainline as 767 replacements when the -9's started appearing.

Could this mean that JQ won't get the 787 at all, and instead go with the A330's, then A350? What does this mean for mainline A330's? Will JQ lease others or will they go to JQ?

Ben Sandilands was speculating yesterday on such things..

As I said first up: It never did make operational, commercial or financial sense to have Jetstar operating the Dreamliner.

IMHO was always just a cog in a grand plan.
