A couple of coalburners, the camo one does make an unusual noise as it goes past, very different.

Mildenhall F14 Eagle?

More like Lakenheath!

The Eagles were "playing" big time down low over ones estate yesters! But going to the pics of the Tonka's- maybe the pics have been flipped but the kit dangling off of the outer pylons seem to have been reversed.
My question is---- Can the Boz and Phimat pods be fitted to either outer pylon or do they have a dedicated "side"?

Just curious?

The general consensus is that the Tornado howl is being generated from the pod fitted on the port outboard pylon. The following video has the 'howl' from the 0:32 point.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0Z0nZiX-RPo&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0Z0nZiX-RPo&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I've also heard the howl from a 41 Squadron Tornado at RAF Coningsby. It would appear to be coming from the modified BOZ pod that now has some extra vents.

It is a pity that there is no role demo or GR4 available for the airshow season. That howl would be an added bonus! No doubt the Taliban and Al Qaeda will have been experiencing that howl at close quarters by now?

The "cammo" GR 4 is Warton's development cab, identified by the white "Tornado" flash on the forward fuselage and the red and blue "GR4" motif below the engine intake and on the fin, so it's more than likely to be seen with some not so conventional stores/role fits.
Some good pics there Jump; thanks :ok:

Hmm, reminds me of something... sort of a speeded up Meatbox? Nice anyway.

When GR4 deploys, hopefully that noise will inspire fear and dread in the minds of the stone age throw backs in black turbans.

The sound of their imminent obliteration.

A la Stuka and the 'widget' on the wheel fairing?

Now why would they paint TORNADO backwards on the aircraft? In case someone gets them in their rear view mirrors:ugh:
