Has anyone been to Sebha in southern Libya recently? We are planning a fuel stop there but heard the rwy could be pretty rough. Any other reasonable stops in the area? :sad:

The Sebha strip is very long and in good repair. I see DC 10s standing there and we arrived and departed on a RJ and or Boeing/Airbus

For fueling you could contact Medavia for assistance unless you have it under control.

The other strip nearby is military and no fuel

Been to Sebha a few times in recent months. There are no problems and Brega (state oil company) provide the fuel at Sebha. Medavia don't have a presence there unless bigoil was suggesting to use them as a 'go-between' for simply arranging fuel?

The main runway is being resurfaced so the parallel taxyway is the declared runway and the parallel taxyway is now 13L/31R. It is only 30m wide so sufficient for the types that use it for the time being at least. Word of caution though, if you use the ILS for Runway 13 then that is calibrated for the main runway (13R) and you need to shuffle across to 13L! The Jepps plate does not differentiate between 13L or 13R, so make sure you land on the usable runway or you might have an extended stay! :}

Ah ha, good catch! Thanks for the info. We were told it was rough so after resurface it will be a good fuel stop for us in the future.

Thanks again
