I see that the project for this is due for completion in Dec 09. There's also an article Dh300m Air Traffic Control Centre in Abu Dhabi (http://www.zawya.com/Story.cfm/sidZAWYA20090218042407) stating there will be 61 additional controllers in there. That link came from SCADIA - Abu Dhabi Airport Expansion - Air Traffic Control Complex (ATCC) (http://www.zawya.com/projects/project.cfm/pid100707011919?cc)

Is it fair to surmise that this will all be on time and that all the support staff will also be in place - I see an advert for a deputy chief engineer as well. Does that mean there will be more vacancies advertised shortly or are the numbers already "sorted"?

Just interested because I'm considering a move out of the UK and if it's a shiny new building with shiny new equipment ... how can I resist?

It's been operational for about three weeks now. Big and shiny it surely is.

Bluesky, you are referring to the area control complex of the GCAA. The new ATCC is the new ATC tower at AUH and will only be fully operational by June 2010
